The Bristol-based, Crack Magazine-affiliated festival completes its weeklong line-up for its 2025 edition.

Crack Magazine, Team Love, and The Bristol Beacon have completed the line-up for the 2025  edition of Simple Things, featuring a specially curated programme that celebrates the best in contemporary music culture.

The 2025 edition of the festival will take place from November 4-9, with a series of standalone shows between Tuesday and Friday, culminating in the main festival day on Saturday 8 November and a closing show on Sunday 9 November.

The week-long programme opens with a show from London-based band Moin, who will be joined by a selection of guest performers in Bristol Beacon’s Beacon Hall. The trio, featuring Raime’s Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead alongside percussionist Valentina Magaletti, will bring their unique fusion of post-punk, shoegaze, and experimental rock for a special ‘in the round’ performance.

On Wednesday, 5 November, the Beacon Hall will welcome cult synth-pop artist John Maus ahead of the release of Later Than You Think – his first new album in seven years. Known for his theatrical, unpredictable shows, Maus is set to deliver an immersive live experience alongside special guests also performing ‘in the round’.

The festival moves to The Prospect Building on Thursday, 6 November, where legendary electronic duo Autechre will perform after an opening DJ set from techno heavyweight Mark Broom. With over three decades of boundary-pushing releases, Autechre’s live shows remain an unpredictable and ever-evolving journey through experimental sound.

Producer, DJ and electronic music stalwart Daniel Avery will headline the Opening Concert on Friday 7 November, bringing his much-lauded live show to the main room of the Bristol Beacon. He’ll be joined by a hand-picked roster of closely affiliated guests, setting the tone for Saturday’s main event.

The festival’s flagship day on Saturday, 8 November, will see shows in multiple venues across the city with artists including Dry Cleaning, TV On The Radio frontman Tunde Adebimpe, These New Puritans, Mechatok, Iglooghost, Jawnino, Smerz. The line-up will be completed by a final release of names in the coming week.

Closing the festival on Sunday, 9 November, Dutch composer and pianist Joep Beving will mark the 10th anniversary of his debut album Solipsism with an intimate solo performance at Lantern Hall.
