The Cause has found a potential new home for 2020.
The Cause may be opening a new venue in London for 2020. The new warehouse space will be trialled on New Year’s Eve and will host up to 750 people throughout the party from 4 PM (31 December) to 6 AM (1 January). Both The Cause’s usual location in Tottenham and the new undisclosed space will be open for the party and multiple shuttle buses will run between the spaces. The club’s current location is scheduled to close on 1 January.
The independent club first opened in April last year with the aim of raising £25,000 for its charity partners Mind In Haringey, C.A.L.M. and Help Musicians UK. It was initially planned to run as a temporary clubbing space for a limited period, however, after doubling their initial fundraising goal, The Cause has continued to organise parties and raise money. Previous events have seen Batu, Avalon Emerson, Hodge and Joy Orbison take over the decks.
In the press release, The Cause organisers have stressed that there are still many barriers to overcome before the new location can be marked as the official space to host a 2020 series of events. Co-founder of The Cause Stuart Glen has said “Since we opened, we were always hunting for our next site. For a variety of reasons, quite simply none of them have been perfect. However we knew when we stepped inside here, that we could re-create the magic we’re known for IF we can win over the powers that be.”
The line-up and location for the New Year’s Eve party will remain secret.
