The Portuguese electronic music festival has announced its first wave of artists for this year’s edition.

In August, Neopop Festival returns for its 16th event, taking place from 10-12 August. The first acts confirmed to play include Honey Dijon – who makes a return following her set at the festival’s 15th anniversary celebrations last year – and Richie Hawtin, who will take over the Neo Stage for one of the evenings with a curated line-up.

The likes of Charlotte de Witte, Nicole Moudaber, Francesco del Garda and Mall Grab are set to make their Neopop debuts and there will also be appearances from FJAAK, Dax J, Dubfire, Pan-Pot and more.

Neopop Festival 2023 will be held in the coastal city of Viana do Castelo, Portgual. Tickets are on sale now via the festival’s website. More acts and details for this year’s event to be announced in the run up to the festival.

Last year’s anniversary edition featured sets from Honey Dijon, Ricardo Villalobos, Hessle Audio, The Blessed Madonna and Violet – who runs Lisbon-based imprints Naive and Naivety, co-founded Rádio Quântica and forms part of queer rave collective minas. Listen to a playlist of “silver-plated dancefloor moments” curated by Violet.
