The Czech festival has announced the first names for this year.
Taking place from 25 to 30 September, Lunchmeat Festival is set to welcome Evian Christ for a live A/V show, a collaborative performance from Slikback and Weirdcore and a DJ set from Otik. Other names confirmed include Marina Herlop, Voices from the Lake, CORIN and Spekki Webu with Matti Vilho.
Elsewhere, Zoë Mc Pherson will present their latest release Pitch Blender alongside visual artist Alessandra Leone. Additionally on the collaborative tip, there will also be four world premieres from Czech and Slovak artists. This includes Petra Hermanová who will present In Death’s Eyes featuring Denny Wilke, Martyyna and Igor Lorok, a live audiovisual set from DOOM’D – aka Trauma and oxoo – and a collaborative performance from Oliver Torr and Axonbody.
For the forthcoming edition – which marks Lunchmeat’s 14th festival – the event is eschewing programming that bills artists as headliners and supports. Speaking on this Jakub Pešek, who heads up the festival, says, “In addition to the international acts, this year we want to highlight excellent local artists that we have discovered in the vibrant club scene. We are looking under the surface to present new outstanding acts that are new to the European music festival circuit”.
Alongside today’s line-up announcement, Lunchmeat is also launching its own blog which will offer a media platform for young Czech journalists. Additionally, as part of the festival’s Symposium programme it will address the topic of the future and sustainability of music journalism.
