Zamilska curates a playlist of “music for open-minded people”

Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.

There’s a corporeal quality that underpins Zamilska’s work, and not just due to the bone-rattling intensity of her beats. The Polish artist’s noise-techno fusion is driven by a visceral catharsis and charisma, tangible in her productions where blistering industrial beats interlock with abrasive distortions and haunting melodicism to create a hypnotic ritualism. As evidenced on her most recent single Deadfall.

Given the immersive rawness of Zamilska’s sound, it makes sense that she’s also worked on videogame and film soundtracks. In particular, her music featuring in 2017 cyberpunk game Ruiner and more recently the soundtrack for Netflix thriller Mother’s Day.

Looking to next year, Zamilska heads to the Netherlands to play ESNS in January. Ahead of this, she curates a Selections playlist featuring tracks from Gabber Modus Operandi, Tzusing and Moor Mother alongside fellow Polish artists Siksa and Krzta. This is “music for open-minded people,” Zamilska says of her playlist. “Listen, indulge and share your favourites with your friends”.
