For its 18th edition, Neopop Festival returned to Portugal’s Viana do Castelo with the theme Interplanetary Dance Music.

From 7–9 August, the historic walls of Viana do Castelo came alive with a celebration of digital culture and electronic music, backdropped by a striking visual experience conceived by Lisbon-based creative collective DubLab.

Split across two stages, Neopop Festival’s intimate size allowed the crowd to flow fluidly between performances, which included a special Goldie set that explored the history of rave culture and experimental electronics, and a world premiere b2b between Freddy K and Joseph Capriati. Other highlights included ZenGxrl and Aurora Halal making their Neopop debuts, IMOGEN and Daria Kolosova going b2b, and techno giants Ben Klock, Richie Hawtin, and Jeff Mills doing what they do best.
