6 New Videos You Need To See

Each week we round-up the best (and worst) new music videos out there

With the advent of high-speed internet, we’re living in a bit of a golden age for the music video – but we’re also reaching a point where you see at least one of the bloody things every time you open your eyes.

The question is, how do you know which videos are stone cold classics and which are just dust in the wind of the World Wide Web?

As usual, we’re here to help! We’ve rounded up the most notable clips from the last seven days from the far-flung recesses of the internet.

Check them out after the drop.

Tink - Circle The Block

Directed by @DGainz

Tink‘s got a nice car, a nice set of trackies and a troupe of dancers in this video from one of her many recent mixtapes.

Slayer - You Against You

Directed by BJ McDonnell

Slayer have never been the most harmless dudes on the block, but they come truly armed and angry to this Tarantino-style shoot-out/knife-out/chain-out. Gruesome, so if you’re not into gore, swerve it.

Spinning Coin - Albany

Directed by Roxanne Clifford

Glasgow’s optimistic dream-poppers Spinning Coin bop around town, the park, and down by the river in this hazy cut directed by Veronica Falls’ Roxanne Clifford.

Jolly Mare - Hungry Angry

Jolly Mare’s electro-funk, disco and house finds a visual playmate in the video for this one from his forthcoming Mechanics LP. Clunky, random graphics groove along as we’re shunted from one poorly rendered dimension to the next.

PJ Harvey - The Community Of Hope

Directed by Seamus Murphy

This video has gotten PJ Harvey a lot of stick from Washington DC politicians who claim “PJ Harvey is to music what Piers Morgan is to cable news” after her lyrics suggested that District 7 of the city “is just drug town, just zombies”. Take a trip around District 7 with her in the video above.

Lucy Dacus - I Don't Wanna be Funny Anymore

Directed by Hunter Brumfield

Lucy Dacus’ tune shunning the societal holes people try and shove us into takes on an ever-more relatable tone as her audience mouths along with those universally understood lyrics.
