The London-based fashion designer selects eight must-see picks from Glastonbury’s Silver Hayes programme this year.

For Priya Ahluwalia, music, fashion and social consciousness have always gone hand in hand. Growing up around a collage of sounds – from Bollywood films to house and UK garage – the designer’s musical heritage is a consistent thread in her work, whether she is collaborating with producers on runway shows, crafting new print patterns, or creating custom looks for artists. Her AW23 collection, for example, was influenced by the sounds of her childhood, and the soundtrack for her Spring 2025 runway show – created in collaboration with MassiveMusic and Afrobeats star Adekunle Gold – included recordings of traditional instruments played by people in refugee camps, with royalties from the songs helping to support the musicians directly.

Now, she’s preparing to speak at Glastonbury’s Wearing The Change panel, which will take place on The Information stage this year as part of the Silver Hayes programme. Joining fellow fashion designers Saeedah Haque and Nicholas Daley, along with fair fashion campaigner Venetia La Manna, Ahluwalia will discuss the environmental impact of the industry, what we can do to help reduce waste within it, and fashion as a force for social and political change.

“Exploring soundscapes and genres has always been a part of how I work,” she says. “This year marks my very first time at Glastonbury, and I couldn’t be more excited.”

Ahead of her Glastonbury debut, we caught up with Ahluwalia to find out which artists she’s most excited to see at Silver Hayes this year, including friends and collaborators, legendary DJs, and a panel talk hosted by Bashy.

Bashy

Friday 27 June, 7-7:45 pm at The Lonely Hearts Club

Bashy is someone I’ve admired for years. I loved Being Poor Is Expensive, his long-awaited sophomore album following a decade-long hiatus. As someone who also grew up in London, his storytelling really resonates with me. I’m so excited to hear and see that energy come to life on stage.

The 'Being Poor Is Expensive' panel discussion

Satuday 28 June, 3:45-4:45 pm at The Information

I’m also hoping to catch the Being Poor Is Expensive panel, hosted by Bashy alongside Gary Stevenson, Kelechi Okafor, and Reni Eddo-Lodge. It’s going to be a rich and necessary conversation, so I’m looking forward to hearing what they share.

3

Maverick Sabre

Saturday 28 June, 4:30-5:30 pm at The Lonely Hearts Club

I’m really looking forward to Maverick Sabre’s set. He came to our SS25 show and we ended up celebrating together at the pub afterwards. It was such a great vibe. His track Slow Down featuring Jorja Smith has been on rotation for me lately, so seeing him live will be a special moment.

4

Jyoty

Saturday 28 June, 1:15-3 am at The Levels

Jyoty is a friend of the brand and a force of nature as an artist, DJ, producer, and radio host. Her energy is infectious, and her love for club culture runs through everything she does. One surreal moment for me was seeing her wearing Ahluwalia in British Vogue; she looked incredible. Her sets are full of joy and freedom, and I can’t wait to catch her live.

Thursday 26 June, 10-11 pm at Firmly Rooted Soundsystem's Yemz & Friendz takeover

I recently came across Yemz and I’ve been hooked ever since. Her sound blends garage, funk, and Nigerian influences in a way that feels fresh yet rooted. I’m excited to experience her live energy.

I saw her a few years ago at a Prada party at the Tate and it was amazing.

Saturday 28 June, 1:30-3 pm at The Levels

DJ Paulette is a legend, an award-winning DJ and author, a trailblazer of house music. As someone who loves house, it’s amazing to see women like her pushing the genre forward. I know her energy behind the decks is going to be next-level.
