Elsewhere rooftop, New York
Last Saturday, Crack Magazine officially toasted its arrival in New York City with a launch party on the rooftop at Brooklyn’s Elsewhere.
Things ramped up quickly, with Incienso affiliate Kiko Kudo tempering the broad sunshine and humid temperatures with dark-hued noisy techno, speed garage, jungle and – at one point – The KLF’s What Time is Love.
Future Times’ Beautiful Swimmers kept the boisterous crowd guessing with their trademark blend of house and disco before knuckling down to tougher textures once the sun went down. We don’t mean to boast, but it was a lot of fun, whether you were down the front or on the periphery, flicking through Issue 100.
If you weren’t there to celebrate with us – or even if you were – these photos, shot by Michelle Helena Janssen, go some way to capturing the unique atmosphere. One for the Crack Magazine scrapbook, definitely.
