DJ Voices mines the corners of club music for an exclusive playlist

Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.

DJ Voices doesn’t do things by half measures. The Florida-born, New York-based DJ, producer and radio host – real name Kristin Malossi – is the kind of artist who finds fulfilment in a mixed-bag of creative projects and musical endeavours. 

From co-founding the Working Women collective to heading up a regular show entitled Nothing in Moderation on The Lot Radio, booking shows over at Ridgewood venue Nowaday or even helming a book club over on Instagram, Malossi is a staple of the New York electronic music scene and a tireless supporter of others within her vicinity and beyond. 

She’s also an excellent DJ, prioritising “energy and drama over genre” at all times. This can be felt in today’s Selections playlist, which is shared ahead of her appearance at Bilbao BBK Live next month. Here, Malossi favours dark atmospheres, corkscrewing percussion and an air of unpredictability as she presents a “multi-genre collection of tunes (mostly) on the weirder side of club music”.
