Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.

Finding novel ways to effectively straddle the past, present and future of a genre is far from the easiest of endeavours. But in the hands of Tim Reaper, this task feels like a breeze.

The London DJ and producer has made an art of channelling a reverence for jungle’s history into his work, which often takes a more contemporary tack much to delight of the genre’s younger crop of followers.

That’s not to say that he’s a newcomer himself. Reaper’s been quietly honing his sound for well over a decade, largely through releases on the likes of Parallax Recordings, 7th Storey Projects and Lickshot, along with Hooversound and Lobster Theremin – two labels that have proved fruitful in introducing Reaper’s work to wider audiences. It would be remiss to not mention his Future Retro label here, too. The name in itself offers a primer into the Reaper way of life, with the imprint housing music from Sub Focus, Sully, Kloke and Reaper himself.

Ahead of a trip north next month for this year’s edition of No Bounds Festival, the producer shares a Buy Music Club playlist filled with deep gems new and old. There’s no singular focus across this one, just big tunes and lush cuts for the heads down crew from some of Reaper’s current favourite artists and labels. Tune in to hear tracks from FFF, Coco Bryce, Basic Rhythm and more.

Tim Reaper plays No Bounds, Sheffield, on 14-16 October
