This week’s Crack Mix comes direct from Los Angeles-born, Berlin-based DJ Alison Swing.
True to its name, her LA club night Dig Deeper provides a crucial outlet for crate-diggers and ravers looking for nights filled with headsy, explorative sounds. For the club series, Swing has consistently invited artists who share her love of warm, atmospheric house and disco to perform across various venues in the city: from glitzy rooftops to moody warehouse spaces. Acts who’ve stepped up for the night include DJ Sprinkles, Axel Boman and The Black Madonna.
It’s no secret that Swing is a self-proclaimed vinyl junkie. For her entry into the Crack Mix series, she covers lush, languid territories, moving from sprawling ambient and downtempo through to euphoric piano-driven house and peak-time rave bangers.
Alison Swing plays Floppy Drive at Wilde Renate, Berlin, on 6 April
