Driss Bennis runs Casa Voyager in Casablanca, the label hell-bent on circumventing the idea that sunny places must produce sunny music. Instead the label’s output is made up of wiggy club music, best suited to the darker corners of the club. Under the aliases OCB and DJ.Booth – as well as his own name – Bennis’ productions are rooted in electro, and a sense of funk can be found beneath the surface.

Speaking on his choices for his Selections playlist, Bennis says, “This year I’ve spent a lot of time at home. The Casa Voyager office, my studio and my bed are all in the same tiny space and it can feel super stressful. When you are spending your time playing fat kicks and basslines it’s essential to have musical breaks.” These tracks, bedded in hip-hop and warmer tones, represent that break.

With a blend of old classics, new tracks and some of the best new talent from Morocco, this is one to sink your teeth into.
