As a DJ, designer, producer and former label head of Output Recordings, Trevor Jackson’s place forefront of underground music and the wider culture around it remains uncontested.

For over two decades the Londoner has opposed the mainstream, beginning as a designer for club 12″s before going on to start his own imprint. While Output was inarguably built on outsider sounds, the role that the label had on shaping movements like electroclash, or the careers of LCD Soundsystem and Four Tet, meant that Jackson has often existed in a kind of marginal sweet spot – an influencer, sure, but never beholden to trends.
