Transmission to Tisno 2023: Listen to the mix series

When Love International returned last summer following a multi-year hiatus, there was a palpable excitement among those who had made their way over to the Croatian event, which takes place in the picturesque town of Tisno.

With the festival’s sixth edition nearly upon us, it’s high time, we reckon, for another round of Transmission to Tisno – a b2b series featuring artists gracing the much-loved get-together next month. Four mixes. Eight artists. One virtual booth. Dive in below. 

Deep Nalström b2b Chez de Milo

Here, a Bristol-based pair – DJ, producer and graphic designer Deep Nalström and Club Blanco boss Chez de Milo – set sail on a two-hour tour through hypnotic, downtempo soundscapes and heads-down grooves. Fluctuating with intensity and far-flung, psychedelic tendencies throughout, this one’s a suitable showcase of the duo’s respective signatures.

NIKS b2b Amaliah

Black Artist Database, co-founded by NIKS, recently launched a new label with an artist compilation described as a “collection of sounds that journeys through the electronic spectrum; exploring celebration, unity and Black joy”.

The release featured a contribution from NIKS as well as one from Amaliah – the London-based DJ, producer and Borne Fruits founder. The pair reconnect across this very mix, championing exhilarating selections that lean heavily into their club impulses. Entirely infectious – but that shouldn’t come as a surprise.

Ogazón b2b Elias Mazian

For the next in the series, Berlin-based artist Ogazón teams up with Amsterdam club circuit mainstay Elias Mazian for a mix that taps into both of their inclinations for warm, buoyant grooves. Opening with birdsong atop dreamy ambient, the pair brings the sunshine with two hours of euphoric, melodic house selections – the kind that keep you on the dancefloor with a grin on your face all night long.

Apiento b2b Alex Kassian

The alias of London-based DJ and producer Paul Byrne, Apiento is also behind the label and platform Test Pressing – with the debut release on the Test Pressing Recordings imprint coming from none other than Berlin’s Alex Kassian. Here, the two dance music heads go b2b for a meditative, dusky dive into deep house, synth-driven electro, otherworldly trance and techno cuts. Lush.
