The electronic and spoken word artist is releasing new material and two remixes on vinyl.

Marie Davidson has announced a new 12” vinyl release. Arriving on 16 August via Ninja Tune, the vinyl will feature the new track Chasing the Light, which was originally composed by Davidson last summer for her Working Class Woman tour. Furthermore, the 12″ will include Daniel Avery’s Lara remix and Soulwax’s edit of Work It. The two remixes will be available on vinyl for the first time.

On the new track Davidson said, “I’m particularly happy about the many melodic sequences and the bass line on this one. It’s my take on Trance music, but as with everything I do, I try not to pastiche a style but only take the references that inspire me to make something on my own terms.” She also called the track her “final effort regarding Club music.”

The Québécois producer is currently on tour. Final shows are scheduled for Studio 9294 in London on 9 August, Vega in Copenhagen on 16 August and Draaimolen Festival in The Netherlands on 14 September.

In July Davidson was shortlisted for the 2019 Polaris Prize for her fourth full-length, Working Class Woman. Other nominees include PUP and Jessie Reyez.
