The Italian festival welcomes a small group of guests and performers to Lake Maggiore this July.
Nicolas Jaar, Willikens & Ivkovic, Mana and more will take part in Before and After, a new small scale festival from the teams behind Tones on the Stones and Terraforma. Taking place in Baveno on Lake Maggiore from 19-26 July, the festival will focus on small-scale performances, all strictly adhering to social distancing guidelines.
As well as musical performances, the festival is inviting architects, philosophers, artists and performers of all stripes to the festival for a series of talks and workshops, with a particular focus on environmentalism and reimagining approaches to the arts. A limited number of guests are also invited to take part in guided nature walks around Lake Maggiore. According to the festival’s organisers, the goal of Before and After is to create a “temporary micro-community” at the festival and present a new model for arts events as Covid-19 lockdowns begin to ease across the world.
The festival will also be broadcast online via the Before and After website. Tickets are available now.
