The record is due for release on 7 December.

Continuing his tradition of festive projects – which has seen the Manchester-based DJ and producer team up with I.JORDAN for three mixes so far in their Joy To The World series – Finn McCorry has announced No More Coal – ‘A Christmas Dance Record’. The nine-track release features collaborations with I.JORDAN and Martyn Bootyspoon.

Earlier this year, Finn released his debut album, Everything Is Alright, on his own 2 B REAL imprint, which has also put out Iceboy Violet’s debut Vanity Mixtape and Marty Bootyspoon’s Corona Dub/E-Track 12″ over the past year. At the end of last month Finn also released The Banger Dictionary – a collection of 90 synonyms for banger “intended as a resource to improve how we talk to each other about great dance music.”

On the forthcoming No More Coal – ‘A Christmas Dance Record’ release, Finn said: “Peace & love, goodwill to all, festivity, gluttony, hedonism, sentimentalism and euphoria – these are all foundational Dance music concepts, as well as Christmas staples. I’ve been working on this record since August, which has been fun (if a bit weird). But I’ve been playing with the idea for some time.”

“Me and I. JORDAN spend each autumn digging for 90s dance music that sounds ‘a bit Christmassy’ – it’s become a bit of a tradition over the last few years, culminating in our Joy To The World mix series,” he continued. “It’s been great fun pulling at that thread to try to make and some of my own Christmas Dance hits to add to the canon this year. Keep the change, ya filthy animals!”

To celebrate the release, on 16 December Finn and I.JORDAN will also be hosting a festive back-to-back set in Manchester’s Soup Kitchen.
