It marks the revered Bristol producer’s first solo release since 2017.
Livity Sound’s Peverelist has a new EP on the way. Entitled Pulse, the four-track release is the Bristol DJ, producer and label founder’s first solo outing in five years. The new EP – which serves as the imprint’s 60th release – is scheduled for release on 7 April. It leads with a B-side banger entitled Pulse III which was released today (9 March). Check it out below.
Peverelist’s last solo release, Tessellations, dropped in 2017. In our review of the album, we said: “Peverelist is arguably the lynchpin of Bristol’s electronic music scene. As a mentor who has inspired others, over the years he’s almost acted like a centrifuge, fostering a vibrant and creative community of producers… Tessellations is full of the depth and power that [Peverelist’s] sustained throughout his discography, and continues to merge rhythmic zones with an awesome focus.”
In the years since Tessellations, Livity Sound has released projects from the likes of DJ Plead, Ido Plumes, Two Shell and Toma Kami. Back in 2021, Livity Sound celebrated its tenth anniversary with a compilation, Molten Mirrors – A Decade of Livity Sound, that showcased an array of core members, newcomers to the label and, its co-founders, offering a snapshot of where the label stood a decade on from its launch.
Prior to its release, we spoke to a slew of artists featured on the comp, including Batu, Azu Tiwaline and Hodge, about their favourite label tracks and memories. Read that feature here and head to Bandcamp to pre-order the Pulse EP.
