Fans certainly hope so.

Oneohtrix Point Never has sparked new collaboration rumours after sharing a studio snap of Yung Lean to Instagram. The producer and composer born Daniel Lopatin shared an image of the Swedish rapper and artist earlier today (29 March), prompting fans to speculate about a potential link-up. He also shared a muted Instagram story of Lean with a sticker reading “Monday”. Check out the picture below – alongside some excited reactions.

Brooklyn-based Lopatin – who’s worked with the likes of Rosalía, Cocteau Twins’ Elizabeth Fraser and The Weeknd in recent years – is currently in Europe for a run of festival tour dates. He was booked for London’s Wide Awake on Saturday (27 May) and will play Sonár’s flagship edition in Barcelona in June. Lean, meanwhile, is also in festival mode; he’ll play Paris’ We Love Green this weekend.

Back in March, it was announced that Lopatin and The Weeknd were connecting for a new film co-written, co-produced and starring the Canadian star. Lopatin was confirmed to be handling the movie’s score.

Yung Lean’s latest mixtape, last year’s Stardust, featured a collaboration with FKA twigs, entitled Bliss. In its accompanying video, the pair references Nelly and Kelly Rowland’s mid-2000s classic Dilemma. Rowland herself commented on the reference at the time. Stardust also featured Skrillex – who recruited Lean and Bladee for a track on his February album, Don’t Get Too Close.

If Lopatin and Yung Lean are indeed working on new music together, it will mark a first for the pair.
