The Swiss festival has announced details of its free programme.

Montreux Jazz Festival returns to the Lake Geneva shoreline for its 57th edition this June and July. In addition to its main festival programme, the event is also set to host more than 400 free entry performances, DJ sets and workshops. As part of this, Moodymann is slated to play two DJ sets with one being a tribute to Prince. Other artists confirmed include Mansur Brown, Skee Mask, Laura Misch, Metronomy and Gayance as well as Yussef Dayes who will host a workshop and also take part in a jam session.

Across the 11 free stages, Nile Rodgers – who is performing at the festival as well – will take part in a workshop alongside Jon Batiste and Marcus Miller. Also locked in is an amapiano set from Major League DJz, and a set from bubbling artist De Schuurmann. Swiss drag collective Genevegas have also been announced alongside other local talent such as Geneva’s DJ Laxxist and Zurich-based musician Belia Winewisser. On top of the music, there will also be pool parties and a film programme as part of Montreux Jazz Festival’s free entry events.

Montreaux Jazz Festival will be held over two weeks from 30 June to 15 July. Artists confirmed to play across the two main venues – the Auditorium Stravinski and the Montreux Jazz Lab – include Bob Dylan, Norah Jones, Lil Nas X and Wet Leg. There’s also former Crack Magazine cover stars Caroline Polachek, IDLES, Rema and Christine and the Queens. Head to the festival’s website for tickets and the full programme.
