The new names will join artists including Kim Gordon, Arooj Aftab and Mabe Fratti this November in Utrecht.
Dutch festival Le Guess Who? has shared the finalised programme for its 17th edition, taking place from Utrecht from 7-10 November. Already boasting the likes of Kim Gordon and HiTech, the line-up underlines the festival’s flair for bringing forward-thinking artists together across a wide range of genres.
Known for his work with Gil Scott-Heron, composer, pianist and flutist Brian Jackson will perform this year, as well as artist, DJ and poet James Massiah and multi-disciplinary artist GAIKA. Drawing in rising acts from around the world, the programme will also feature Brooklyn’s Yaya Bey, who will bring her commanding vocals to Utrecht following the release of her latest album Ten Fold, South Africa’s Sho Madjozi, and South London’s Wu-Lu.
There’s space for legends too, with Jamaican dub pioneer Scientist also joining the bill alongside the UK’s first dub band, Creation Rebel, who will return to the stage after a 40-year hiatus flanked by producer and On-U Sound founder Adrian Sherwood.
More artists announced include folk singer Myriam Gendron, Palestinian artist Julmud and Oslo-based improv collective DNA? AND?.
Curators for Le Guess Who? this year include Arooj Aftab, Crystallmess, Mabe Fratti, Bo Ningen, DARKSIDE (Nicholás Jaar and Dave Harrington) and Touching Bass. Acts like Blackhaine, RP Boo, Lord Spikeheart, Waajeed, DJ Lag and Nidia have also been invited to perform.
Taking over the city of Utrecht for the entire weekend, multiple venues will transform into settings for the festival.
