The theme pays tribute to the festival’s founder and director Sergio Ricciardone, who passed away in March.
Today (2 April), C2C Festival has announced its theme for this year: Per aspera ad astra (Through hardship to the stars), in memory of its late founder and director Sergio Ricciardone, who died earlier this year at the age of 53.
“In this moment of grief, our thoughts are with Christel and Marcello, his family, his friends and all who had the privilege of sharing in his life and work,” a statement from the festival read. “Sergio’s vision will continue to light our path, his presence will guide us in difficult times.”
Ricciardone established C2C Festival with Roberto Spallacci and Giorgio Valletta in 2002, growing it into Italy’s longest running music festival. The festival was started to showcase Turin’s vibrant music scene and went on to spotlight experimental electronic artists from around the world like Aphex Twin, Autechre, Arca and many more.
Carrying his vision forward, C2C has also announced six new artists for its 2025 edition, which will return to its Turin home from 30 October-2 November. Daniel Blumberg, YHWH Nailgun and Jenny Hval will play on the Thursday, while Isabella Lovestory joins the Friday programme alongside previously announced artists including Blood Orange, Skee Mask, Djrum and Ali Sethi & Nicolas Jaar. Florence Sinclair and Malibu will join Saturday’s line-up, which also features Nourished By Time, A. G. Cook, Model/Actriz, Ecco2k and more.
The programme will also feature special performances from undisclosed artists, marked by a ‘?’ on the line-up. These moments will pay tribute to Sergio Ricciardone.
Look out for further additions in the coming weeks. A limited number of early bird tickets for Thursday 30 October, 31 October and 1 November, and all passes, will be available on DICE from 12 pm on Saturday 5 April.
