Euro 2024 quarter-finals: Your pre and post-match playlists, curated by Cristale

Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.

Hailing from Brixton, South London, Cristale has come to represent one of the area’s leading young voices. Breaking out in 2019 with bone-rattling drill freestyles, her music has evolved in recent times, turning heads with its deeply personal content, creative sampling and cold flow.

But on top of her lyrical chops, she also has the world at her feet. As a teenager, she was scouted for Crystal Palace FC at under 18 and under 16 levels, before choosing to focus her efforts on music. With the Euros reaching crunch point this week, we invited her to curate two playlists – one for adrenaline-building pre-match focus, and one to wind down with after the final whistle blows. Pre-match

Cristale: “These are the songs I’d play if I wanted to pump up and switch on my go-getter mindset. They give off a lot of energy; you can’t help but sing along. Easy to get the adrenaline pumping before a match, they’re fast-paced and jumpy, just like any game of footy.”

Post-match

Cristale: “After the match, these songs are more slow, which would help relax you and enable you to wind down. Exactly what you need after 90 mins of chaos.”
