Spotlighting the best new short films and emerging filmmakers, this year’s edition of LSFF took over London’s cinemas for ten days of screenings, live events and conversation.

London Short Film Festival’s schedule seems to expand, both in size and variety, every year. For its 22nd edition, the festival took place over ten days in January as usual, presenting over 200 new short films across the city’s most famous screens and arts spaces. From a deep dive into the power of pop music to an exploration of sound revolutions in Deptford and New Cross, music was a key through-line across a handful of standout programmes, as well as this year’s theme, ‘Spaces’.

With a variety of events, workshops and panels also on the agenda, there was plenty of room for attendees to connect, get inspired and be challenged – a fact that served to underline the importance of protecting the London’s own third spaces for culture and community.

Look back on some highlights from the festival in the photos below, and listen to three playlists inspired by our LSFF 2025 picks here.
