Listen to livwutang‘s soundtrack for life’s transitional moments
Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.
Pirate radio and local raves were livwutang‘s entry into the booming DIY circuit in Seattle, but a move to New York, where she brought her enchanting sound palette to one of the city’s most popular venues as a resident at Nowadays, saw her career start to blossom.
Though her sound can’t be confined to just one genre, the DJ is known for her love for dub, percussion and nostalgic sounds, especially through her residency Furniture Without Memories on NTS Radio – a genre-spanning showcase of selections ranging from ambient to dub, house, wassoulou and more.
Currently embarking on a summer tour reaching everywhere from Italy to Hong Kong to Croatia, we invited livwutang to delve beyond the busy highlights and craft a playlist of her favourite heaters for life’s transitional, in-between moments. “This is a playlist for intermediate contexts – buffering, transiting, rushing, waiting,” she says. “To listen to at the befores or the afters, when you’re on the way someplace, on your way back, or anywhere in-between.” Check it out below.
livwutang will play Polifonic Festival Puglia, which takes place between 25-28 July.
