Kacie McAdam (K4CIE) is a DJ and broadcaster living in Glasgow. Her story started four years ago when she began DJing, keen to bring a more 808-laden, rap-adjacent sound to the city’s 4/4-heavy landscape. Fairly quickly, her selections bagged her a spot on underground Glasgow station LVLZ Radio which has now led to guest slots and shows on NTS, Noods, Reprezent and Sister Radio in Los Angeles.

Most recently, Kacie’s been featured in the Glasgow instalment of Eventbrite’s Generation DIY series – profiling young event creators aged 25 and under making real change in the UK. The campaign was an opportunity for McAdam to promote PEACH – a party she runs in Glasgow which encourages an inclusive space for women both on the line-up and in the club. The PEACH endeavour was prompted by Kacie feeling that the music she loves was being let down by a notable lack of female presence. As she told Dazed earlier this year, “Our job is to help create a safer space – not only for females but for everyone, no matter race, sexual orientation, religious beliefs etc. Everyone’s welcome. We do not tolerate any hate. We make that crystal clear.”

For her contribution to the Crack Magazine mix series she brings an energising pin-drop of the club sounds that orbit around hip-hop, RnB, UK drill and beyond. Formidable US rappers like Nicki Minaj and Princess Nokia sit alongside UK names like Loski, Ms Banks and even a cut from K4CIE herself.
