Dutch festival, situated in the lakeside surrounds of Ewijk, returned in July treating revellers to sets from David Byrne, The XX, Avalon Emerson and more

If you enjoy your major indie headliners with a side of swimming, bonfire revelry and kaleidoscopic escapism, set against a backdrop of lakeside and woodland surrounds, Dutch festival Down The Rabbit Hole is one for noting down.

This year’s event, which took place close to the village of Ewijk, an hour from Amsterdam, saw heavyweight headliners The XX, an orange suited David Byrne and Little Simz topping a bill that also included the likes of Overmono, Avalon Emerson, Rainy Miller and DJ Boring.

Elsewhere on the lineup, dance-forward artists complimented a penchant for indie with the likes of the typically-high energy ¥ØU$UK€ ¥UK1MAT$U (warming up for The XX no less), Gerd Janson going B2B with Hunnee and Crack Mix alummi Pariah all playing to joyous crowds across the three days.
