Jacob's Antiques Basement, Cardiff

Touted by the good folks behind Cardiff club night, Teak, as arguably the finest DJ in Italy, Volcov, aka Enrico Crivellaro, took to the depths of Jacob’s Antiques basement for a journey through a plethora of different genres.

Volcov’s set incorporated the brassy sounds of archetypal 80’s disco and jazz-infused rhythms. Throughout the night he brought together his famed psychedelic funk melodies with driving soulful elements. All the while, Teak’s enthusiastic attendees found themselves gleefully transported back to a time when dance music’s founding fathers first lit up dance floors.

Volcov continuously provided the good music – layering bewitching, transcendental synth overtones with forceful pulsations embodying the illustrious boundaries of house music. The good vibes, which Teak is so markedly celebrated for, came naturally.

Due to the no-phone and no-picture policy, the Teak residents – and Volcov himself – held the full attention of the crowd in an all-consuming experience that will not be forgotten any time soon.
