Selections: Budino

Welcome back to Selections, a series of exclusive artist-curated Spotify playlists from those in the know.

A favourite of Test Pressing and other champions of discerning taste, Budino is one of the most reliable DJs on the circuit – particularly with regard to track selection. No surprise then, that the Oscillator resident picks out an outstanding collection of tracks for her Selections, drawing on plenty of groove and warmth and staying true to the oddball sensibilities her sets carry too.

When we spoke to her via email about the mix, she revealed her love of “shar[ing] with people music that I love and am not playing in parties.” The tracks selected here contain “slow-downtempo-sexy jams [such] as the one from William Orbit, one of the heads behind Torch Song (one of my favourite bands for their different styles). Experimental-space vibes with Tangerine Dream, such a big inspiration for me, and I couldn’t forget about DAF and Cassandra Complex with their dark-industrial-electro sound.”

These tracks hit the sweet spot where weirdness and stone-cold hits collide. Press play for intergalactic jams to suit any occasion.

Budino plays Horst Festival, 13-15 September, ASIAT, Belgium
