Selections: Fabiana Palladino
Fabiana Palladino is a solo artist carving out her own mark. A former member of both Jessie Ware and SBTRKT’s backing bands, she’s one of the first two label signees to emerge from the mysterious project helmed by brothers Jai Paul and A.K. Paul.
One of the most elusive artists in music, Jai Paul teamed up with his Ivor Novello-winning brother A.K. Paul to launch The Paul Institute in 2016. Then, out of nowhere, news emerged last month that the Pauls had bought a former BBC discotheque to use as a physical base. This was quickly followed up by limited-time-only tracks from two new signees: Fabiana Palladino and Ruthven. In typical Paul style, it was far from an average release, with listeners only able to hear the tracks via a text message code on an encrypted website.
Much of the project has been shrouded in mystery, so we’re excited to track down Palladino for an exclusive playlist. Enjoy an hour-long pop playlist spliced through with funk, R&B and soul. Get Janet Jackson, Prince and the Cocteau Twins on rotation while you await the Pauls’ next move.
