Selections: Jaguar
Welcome back to Selections, a series of exclusive artist-curated playlists from those in the know.
Spotlighted by Smirnoff’s Equalising Music Campaign, Jaguar is an emerging DJ – one who you should get on your radar immediately. Born in the Channel Islands and currently residing in London, Jaguar began immersing herself in dance music culture from a young age, sneaking out to her first rave at the age of 14. Finding her feet through student radio, the up-and-coming artist has gone on to receive mentoring from none other than her DJ hero, The Black Madonna; and she now holds multiple professions in the field of dance music to her name: writer, selector, broadcaster – she presents Mixmag’s Lab LDN and is a host on Reprezent Radio. Aside from the dancefloor, the multi-hyphenate has helmed mixes for the likes of 1Xtra and The Selector, where she displays her dexterity in selecting vivacious, explosive tracks.
This tendency is present in her instalment for our Selections series, too. With a list of colourful selections, ranging from The Black Madonna to Artwork and Peggy Gou, Jaguar shows firm promise of an intriguing future as a selector. Jaguar is part of the Smirnoff Equalising Music programme: an initiative to double the figures of women and female-identifying DJs in music.
