As part of the Boko! Boko! crew in London, and in her own journey to Berlin, Juba has for years been championing African music in European clubs. Afrobeats, afrohouse, highlife and gqom all have a home in her style of play, as do the diasporic sounds of UK funky and garage; a refreshing burst of energy, particularly among the techno-heavy landscape of the German capital.

Her playlist for us reflects this African-centric outlook on dance music, with workouts from the likes of Magic System, Mina and KOKOKO!. Harder modern cuts from gqom don DJ Lag also feature alongside summer bangers from Burna Boy and Tinuke, and a run out for Oxide & Neutrino’s garage anthem Bound 4 da Reload is always welcome.
