Grimes has taken to TikTok to tease another new track. Entitled Tragedy, or 100% Tragedy, the new song sees the Canadian musician taking her sound into clubbier territory. The pink-hued video shows Grimes dancing to the track in slow motion.

The video is captioned: “My label thinks this isn’t a single what do y’all think?”. Grimes also shared it to her Instagram. There she wrote: “Imo this song shud have a music video”. Watch the clip below.

Earlier this year, Grimes moved from 4AD to Columbia Records. She’ll release her next album, a follow-up to 2020’s Miss Anthropocene, via the major label. She’s previously described the new record as a “space opera” about a lesbian AI romance. She also teased another track entitled Shinigami Eyes on Discord.

Back in January, Grimes told fans that she’d be working on new music with pop singer-songwriter and producer Caroline Polachek. We caught up with Polachek last week to discuss her new single, Bunny is a Rider. She confirmed the collaboration, but revealed that it may never be released.
