A celebration of forward-facing visual and sonic art, the Sydney event will return on 14 October with the likes of Surgeon, Pangaea and Hiroko Yamamura also confirmed.
The 2023 edition of Mode Festival, hosted on Cockatoo Island – otherwise known as Wareamah – is taking place in October. The one-day event will play host to the likes of Surgeon, SPFDJ and object blue who will be going back-to-back with TSVI. DJ Voices, Darwin and Tzusing are among the other announced names, alongside Australian artists such as Guy Contact, jamesjamesjames and D-Grade.
A new open-air stage has also been announced for the festival’s second iteration, which takes place on the UNESCO World Heritage Site, situated in Sydney Harbour. A visual arts programme, curated by Sydney’s 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, is due to be announced in the coming weeks. A number of festival afterparties will also take place following the event, which will run from 2pm to 10:30pm.

Mode Festival 2023 are on their final release and can be purchased from the event’s website. The festival is also hosting a Melbourne/Naarm chapter on 8 October at PICA: Port Melbourne Industrial Centre for the Arts. Danielle, Parris and sim0ne – as well as Darwin, DJ Voices and jamesjamesjames – have been announced for the Victoria event.
