The 12″ of the two-track single will be released on 9 February.
Having teased new music on New Year’s Day, today Burial has shared a new double-single on XL Recordings. A mainstay of Hyperdub, Dreamfear / Boy Sent From Above marks the artist’s first solo release for the west London imprint.
XL confirmed the release a few weeks ago, when a new white label appeared online. Today (2 February) the tracks have been released digitally with the 12″ vinyl release set for next Friday (9 February). Pre-order the record here and listen to the tracks below.
Known for his releases on Kode9’s Hyperdub, Burial previously teamed up with Thom Yorke and Four Tet on a 2020 double-single for XL, entitled Her Revolution / His Rope. This year also marks Hyperdub’s 20th anniversary, who put out Burial’s Mercury-nominated album Untrue alongside other releases including his 2022 EPs Antidawn and Streetlands.
