The Bristol radio station aims to raise £70,000 for a deposit to save the venue.
The team behind Bristol’s Noods Radio has called on friends of the station to curate a 23-track compilation to help raise money for its attempt to purchase its headquarters and established community hub, Mickey Zoggs.
Miracle on Surrey Street is an ode to the street where the Mickey Zoggs pub resides and has become a vital spot for the ever-growing creative community in Bristol. The album features heavyweights in the scene including names such as Saskia, JK Flesh, Richie Culver, iona & insk, YOKEL, and more.
Money raised from the Bandcamp release will go towards the £70,000 deposit needed to purchase the venue before the end of its lease in November.
Since launching in 2015, Noods has not only broadcast to millions of listeners tuned in to the station, but also provides opportunities and resources to young people in Bristol aiming for a career in the creative industries.
Schemes like Process and Tracking have allowed entry-level photographers and designers to develop their craft for free with the guidance of industry professionals and support from the station’s developmental programme, Noods Levels.
Today (12 June), the team has raised 70 percent of their target with 11 days left on the Crowdfunder campaign to save the venue.
