Skepta’s Big Smoke Festival returned to London’s Crystal Palace Bowl last month for a two-day takeover as part of this year’s South Facing Festival series.

Only in its second edition, the Skepta-curated weekender balanced legacy and innovation, with performances from the likes of Central Cee, JME and Chy Cartier.

Saturday’s line-up pulled together a selection of UK rap and grime heavyweights, with sets from former Crack Magazine cover star Central Cee, BXKS, Chip and more. A rare Grime MC FM b2b The Den set carried the momentum into the evening, before a headline set from Skepta himself, who was joined by friends and collaborators.

On Sunday, he switched gears, putting Más Tiempo into the spotlight. The day unfolded with b2bs from The Menendez Brothers and Meeshy, Djammin and Ossi and Syreeta and Kitty Amor, with Jammer, Maceo Plex, and Skepta all taking the decks and an appearance from Fred again.. to round off the weekend.
