Gabber Eleganza curates a playlist of “spectral, seductive tracks”
Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.
As Gabber Eleganza, Alberto Guerrini strives to connect old with the new. Through the project – which has evolved from an archival blog into music outfit, with links out to art, publishing, events and fashion – the Italian DJ and producer harnesses the spirit of old-school rave, hardcore and (of course) gabber, and propels it into the future.
Ahead of his appearance at The Warehouse Project’s XXL party later this month – where he’ll perform alongside the likes of DJ Stingray 313, Amelie Lens, Jeff Mills, Helena Hauff and countless others – Guerrini curates an exclusive Buy Music Club playlist loaded up with hard, fast and incendiary cuts. Tune in to hear tracks from producers such as Yazzus, Tygapaw and Jasmine Infiniti. There’s a new one from our November cover star Blackhaine in there as well, alongside an ecstatic cut from Paul Seul which was released earlier this year via Guerrini’s multi-media imprint Never Sleep.
Chatting to Crack Magazine over email, Guerrini described his playlist as a “selection of spectral, seductive tracks to climb a thousand-year-old volcano and surf on incandescent magma”. While that would be nice, in theory, we reckon his choices still make for excellent at-home listening material – especially now the weekend is basically here. Enjoy!
