Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.

Elkka wears her heart on her sleeve. Or, if we’re being a little more precise, her intentions on her record sleeves.

Be it 2019’s Every Body Is Welcome – which was shared via her own femme culture imprint – or her Euphoric Melodies and Harmonic Frequencies EPs for Ninja Tune sub-label Technicolour, Elkka’s release titles often reveal a great deal about her music even before you’ve hit play.

Indeed, themes of euphoria, harmony and communal celebration permeate the Cardiff-born, London-based DJ, artist and BBC Radio 1 resident’s work both in the studio and behind the decks. Her Selections playlist, shared ahead of a forthcoming show at Barcelona’s Brunch-In Weekender, further exemplifies her appetite for joyous house, techno and other club-ready styles – as well as a certain fondness for pop.

“I am really enjoying getting to play all over Europe and beyond this year; bringing music that has a UK flavour as well finding tracks that translate in every environment. These selections are from my current stack of records – metaphorically speaking,” she tells Crack Magazine. “They are tracks I’ve found myself going back to a lot recently [along with] some very new tracks I’m obsessing over. There are a plethora of sounds and feelings, which is something I always enjoy exploring in all my DJ sets.”

Elkka plays Brunch-In Weekender, Barcelona, on 12-14 August
