Lock into a euphoric playlist for sungazing from dj lostboi and Torus

Welcome back to Selections, a series of artist-curated playlists from those in the know.

Today, it’s the turn of dj lostboi and Torus – the French producer and composer and the Dutch multidisciplinary artist who teamed up in 2020 for a split-LP entitled The Flash (the pair had linked before, with lostboi joining Torus on a 2017 track,  just under emosh ambient alias that is Malibu. 

In keeping with the evocative, detail-oriented and pop-laden tenor of their collaborative work – which will soon take them to Germany for a live show as part of the extensive Berlin Atonal festivities at the Kraftwerk complex – the pair’s joint Selections offering is loaded with euphoric, nostalgic dance music from the likes of Olive, DJ Sammy, Ellie Goulding and Avicii, along with pacy bangers from DJ Rashad and Jonny L and more delicate moments from Sarah McLachlan and Joanne Robertson. For every sing-along serotonin-spiker, there’s a gear-shift to something more tender. It just works.
